We LOVE Quiet Town! — Painted Sidewalks

We're nuts about the newly launched bathroom collection Quiet Town. References of Americana quilting and mountain-scape lines collide with a high-dose of pop color and lush, hand-dyed organic fibers. Fresh graphics, thoughtful craftsmanship, and chic brass hardware bring major style to the place we families spend a LOT of time in. We're thrilled to sit down and chat with one-half of Quiet Town, tastemaker + daydreamer Lisa Fine. Click for more as she shares a bit behind the brand , including her own #sleepstories and how she channeled her exhaustion into some serious creative productivity.

PS: The beautiful simplicity of Quiet Town is brilliant. Tell us a bit about WHY you created this collection?

LF: Quiet Town was created out of necessity and obsession. We (my husband and I) could never find anything for the bathroom that felt like "us" and I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I spent about five years obsessing over it before I actually did anything about it. When I really picked apart the problem I discovered that it might be something someone with a full-time job and two kids could figure out (if sleep and a savings account could be sacrificed). I loved the idea of creating a space that felt like a sanctuary of sorts- not in a "Calgon, take me away" way, but more in the way that it could literally be the only time in your life that you're alone. I confess to long instagram sessions on the toilet. I know i'm not the only one!

PS: You are a busy fashion stylist and mother of two! How and when did the idea for QUIET TOWN actually emerge?

LF: Quiet Town entered my life via sleep deprivation while nursing my son at all hours of the night. In his dark room my mind would wander to shower curtains. I would try to shift my focus to other things but it was too hard to man-handle my imagination. I considered grommets as embellishment, artist collaborations, using vintage sailcloth, anti-mold treatments and on and on in the dark of Indie's room.

PS: Speaking of Sleep....any new projects you are dreaming of for Quiet Town?

LF: My son was honestly the worst sleeper I've ever heard of-and believe me, I tried to find worse. I searched the internet, sleep trainer testimonials, friends, strangers, but I never met a more horrible sleeper than Indie. So now, as a result, I need a lot less sleep to function which is a good thing considering our life these days. These earned extra hours in the day are put to good use: I'm currently fixed on inventing a shower curtain that i believe doesn't exist anywhere and we just completed the shower curtain hook of my dreams (a statement I feel has never been uttered before, ever)
