Ma Crush Monday: Lisa Fine of Quiet Town
There’s an undeniable grace and kindness illuminating from this week’s Ma Crush, Lisa Fine of our favorite new bath collection, Quiet Town. We met the stylist and mother of two for a drink in the city to talk about the brand she spearheads with her husband, photographer Michael Fine, but quickly decided we were crushing hard, and needed to revisit on the double! Click for the story, as she was kind enough to share some lovely family photographs and answer #thesamethreequestions.
1.PS: Tell us a bit what's behind your children's names:
Indigo Seymour Fine | almost 6 years
LF: We had a rough time finding a boy's name we both loved. This one just sounded right to us and we couldn't shake it. My husband was sold by the nickname, Indie. Indie's middle name, Seymour, was my grandfather's name. We picked that in the hospital, I'm pretty sure we were both kind of kidding but it stuck anyway.
Sunny Gray Fine |3.5 yrs
This was always going to be our daughter's first name. No question. The word Sunny just made us happy, and we all want that for our kids. Sunny's middle name, Grey, is Michael's grandmother's last name.
2.PS: Can you share a few of your local Motherhood Favorites?
LF: We go to Long Beach on the west end side and slip on like a local. Michael and I lived there for an extended summer back in '07. We used long beach as a transition period when we moved from the west village.
3.PS: What commonalities of Motherhood do you reject, and on the flip-side...do you have any guilty pleasures?
LF: I totally reject losing yourself to motherhood; getting together with friends and only talking about kids/school/lice/potty training. I never use the words "date night" or "man cave". And i resent every episode of House Hunters when the husband defers to the wife regarding the kitchen. I do however, LOVE hearing and telling birth stories.
PS: Would you mind sharing a SCRIBBLE? (a doodle, a recipe, a poem- anything!)
take a looksie @quiettownhome!
