Nursery Tour: Jamie and Alice

Perched atop a friendly Mount Washington hill in the city of Angels, Archivist/Writer Jamie Ramirez shows us inside her darling daughter, Alice's romantic nursery . Lisa Cole shares snapshots of dress-up and stories in the dreamy California bungalow.

Jamie is the picturesque modern mother living in Los Angeles. The Missouri-native is sweet as pie, and she'll bake you one to boot. She's skilled in the kitchen- in fact she just launched a new Vegan food blog called Des Olives with the talent behind the camera, her pal Lisa. The foodie, bookish, cat-loving Momma shows us around the sentimentally playful room for her girly-girl Alice and introduces us to her colorful brood. Bedside chat

A new Big-girl bed for Alice. She loves the canopy-the cat walks on the rails and we hang princessy things from there.

Pillows: one hand-done and embroidered from my great-grandmother. The cat was an Etsy find, and the tiny Mr. Darcy is all me.

"Cleaning and sweeping can wait till tomorrow for babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep, for I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep!"

Alice does her best Veruschka in the foreground of her dresser, which was the type of bedroom furniture I always wanted when I was little.

I'm a big believer in baskets. I like being able to separate things and put them away while keeping them accessible. It's the librarian in me. A lazy way to "shelf" the toys.

Craft corner.

Alice's banner- our friend knit for her first birthday. She was her first sitter and the first person I ever left Alice alone with--a very special relationship and she loves it.

A coatrack for Alice, which we found on the street in Brooklyn. Moses and I really loved our street finds. Baskets, toys, a huge tub of costumes, and vintage dresses bought on Etsy.
