Digs: Elizabeth and Family

It's no surprise California boasts a ripe crop of mid-century modern architecture, but discovering these gems outside of the southern coastal and desert cities is particularly exciting. Our new friend, Elizabeth (who by chance is also close with some of our other pals here), is lucky enough to actually inhabit one in Sacramento. Celisse Muller photographs her streamlined space; one of the niche market homes in the surrounding suburbs of midtown designed by the architect Carter Sparks, and built by the Streng Bros, inspired by the Bay Area Eichler. Elizabeth (often called Yelizabeta , an ironic nod to her "immigrant family history" on her social media feeds) brings a curated, almost refined polish to the home. Vaulted ceilings, indoor atriums, and a floating fireplace are the brass tacks of the house, while the open floor plan is  punctuated with an impressive collection of perfectly-procured midcentury furniture.  Meet Elizabeth's two little girls, Mila (2), Lucy (3 months) and their feline friends, Penny and Noodle. Behind the yellow door we find a home filled with light and love.
